Assistant Dean, Department Chair and Professor, Pharmaceutical Sciences Administration, Pharmaceutical Sciences Phone: (210) 883-1031

Dr. Ramsinghani is a native of India where she obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) degrees.  She worked as an analytical chemist in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in India after completion of her master’s degree.  She went on to obtain her doctoral degree in Medicinal Chemistry from University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio in 1998 and followed it with postdoctoral research experience at University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky.

Dr. Ramsinghani is a member of American Chemical Society (ACS), Sigma Xi (the Scientific Research Society), and American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).  Her current research interest is in the area of post-translational modification of proteins by poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation and its implication in cancer therapy.  She has published in peer-reviewed journals.  She has experience in chemical syntheses, protein chemistry and cell biology techniques.  Dr. Ramsinghani joined the faculty at Feik School of Pharmacy in 2008. In 2009, Dr. Ramsinghani was appointed chair of Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.  Her teaching responsibilities are in the area of Medicinal Chemistry within the Pharmacotherapeutics series. Dr. Ramsinghani’s previous appointment was at Hampton University School of Pharmacy, Virginia from 2001-2008.

Dr. Ramsinghani is actively engaged in research and grant-writing.  She was the principal investigator of an NIH funded subproject to develop chemo-potentiating agents to enhance the effects of cancer therapy.  She was a co-investigator in an NIH funded sub-project to synthesize thio-ether conjugates of MDMA (Ecstasy) in an attempt to understand how MDMA mediates its neuronal toxicity.  She was also a co-investigator on a breast cancer research project.
