Dr. Sathyanand Kumaran is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy and a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Internal Medicine at Baptist Medical Center.

Dr. Kumaran graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 2018, and completed a PGY1 residency in acute care at UAMS. Dr. Kumaran worked as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital for nearly 5 years. Prior to his career in Pharmacy, he had a career in Fisheries Science. Owing to his interest in chemistry and its application in human medicine, he embarked on a career in Pharmacy. During his pharmacy journey, he developed a profound interest in Internal Medicine and teaching pharmacy students.

Dr. Kumaran is a member of American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP), and Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society. His research and practice interests are in internal medicine, especially in infectious diseases and cardiology.
