Assistant Professor and MAA Dual Degree Program Coordinator, Pharmacy Practice Pharmacy Practice Phone: (210) 829-1135 Email: cmguerr2@uiwtx.eduDr. Long is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy, an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Transplant Division at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and a transplant clinical pharmacy specialist at University Health in San Antonio. Dr. Long obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Northeastern University School of Pharmacy in Boston, Massachusetts. She continued her training through the completion of a pharmacy residency at University Health in San Antonio, Texas, and a specialty residency in solid organ transplantation at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. Before joining the faculty of the University of the Incarnate Word in 2017, Dr. Long worked as a transplant clinical pharmacy specialist and founding pharmacy residency program coordinator at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Long is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Transplantation, American Society of Health System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, Central Texas Society of Health System Pharmacists, Lambda Kappa Sigma professional pharmacy fraternity and Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society. She is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist and a peer reviewer for several journals in the area of solid organ transplantation. Her areas of interest include the mentorship and career development of pharmacy students and residents, organ donation, end-stage liver and kidney diseases and residency preparation of pharmacy students.
