Student success and well-being form the beating heart of the Feik School of Pharmacy culture.
We know that classroom study and professional experience become your primary, but not exclusive focus, throughout the four-year Pharm.D. journey.
Along the way, student groups, service projects and global trips provide extraordinary discovery moments … chances to bring the Word alive in the world with newfound friends. In between it all, there is everyday concern and encouragement, and plenty of laughter, from a caring academic and faith community.
A Quote from our Dean
"This spirit is evidenced within a cohesive and unified administrative team, in the faculty body’s daily expressions of their dedication to our successes, and to faculty and students reaching out in community service to our local and South Texas neighborhood and beyond.”
—Dr. David F. Maize, Dean and Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Immerse
Students spent nine days traveling South Africa through an inter-professional trip, where they visited Cape Town, Johannesburg and Franschhoek and toured a public health clinic, a pharmacy, the University of West Cape and spoke with Traditional Healers. Students noted the similarities and difference between the South African and American Health Systems. Next year’s 2019 inter-professional trip is to Vietnam and Thailand.
Thrive
Each year, UIW celebrates Fiesta with many events, including Alamo Heights Night. Students savor food from San Antonio’s best restaurants, dance into the night to live music and participate in games and activities. Feik School of Pharmacy hosts an alumni dinner party to coincide with this event.
