Scholarships

Below is a list of scholarships available to students of pharmacy. This is not an exhaustive list, but is provided as a starting point for your search.

This scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students of Native American heritage (25%). It is based on financial need and merit. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years. The application requires an essay and proof of Native American heritage. For more information, please visit the Association on American Indian Affairs Scholarship site.

The Byron Riesch Paralysis Foundation offers scholarships from $1000 to $2000 to undergraduate/graduate students who have a neurological disability or the children of people with such a disability. Applications are available at the Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation Scholarship site.

This scholarship provides financial assistance for full-time education in pharmacy to student members of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA).

The NCPA Foundation Scholarships

Founded in 1975, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund ( HSF) was designed to assist Hispanic American students complete their college education. Scholarships ranging from $1000 to $3,000 are made on a competitive basis to two-year and four-year college students and graduate students of Hispanic heritage. Eligibility criteria include: be of Hispanic heritage, US citizen or legal permanent resident, cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, enrolled in an accredited college/university as a full time student. Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need, letters of recommendation and personal statement. Applications are available online at the Hispanic Scholarship Fund site.

For military members transitioning to civilian life, the pursuit of higher education presents a challenge. The G.I. Bill has long served as a reliable source of funding, however according to the National Veteran Education Success Tracker, a significant number of veterans still face financial barriers to completing their degree.

College scholarships are a crucial resource for veterans, active-duty military members, and their families to bridge the financial gap and achieve their academic dreams. Beyond covering tuition, scholarships can pay for books, housing, and other essentials that might not be fully covered by existing military and government financial aid. The NIAF offers scholarships and grants to outstanding students. Awards are based on academic merit for Italian-American students who demonstrate potential and high academic achievements. The areas of study are open. Scholarship awards range from $2,000 to $12,000 and it can be used to cover tuition only. Applications are available on-line at The National Italian American Foundation site. Eligibility criteria include: enrollment at an accredited institution during Fall 2011, minimum GPA of 3.5, US citizen, must have at least one ancestor who immigrated from Italy.

Druglawsuitsource.com offers two single parent scholarships in the amount of $1000 each. Eligibility criteria include being a single parent raising at least one child, GPA of 2.7 or higher, Students will write an essay explaining career goals and challenges of being a single parent in school. Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. offers two $10,000 scholarships and four $5,000 scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or other life-science related field. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and be a US citizen or possess appropriate VISA status. Applications are available at the Thermo Fisher Scientific Antibody Scholarship Program site.

The Foundation offers scholarships to students who are surviving spouse or child of a fallen active duty service member or fallen veteran of the Armed Forces of the United States. Applications are available at the Veterans United Foundation Scholarship site.
