Dr. Parsons completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Women's Studies and is a graduate of the Mercer University College of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY1 Managed Care Residency at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center and a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency at the Providence VA Medical Center. After her residency training, Dr. Parsons joined the faculty at The University of New England College of Pharmacy where she taught various therapeutics and laboratory courses, and an elective in Communication Skills. She developed a VA practice in Primary Care serving patients in rural Maine.

Dr. Parsons then served as an Ambulatory Care Clinical Specialist at Maine Medical Center where she established a new practice in a Family Medicine Medical Residency program and served as the institution's first PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency Program Director. This Family Medicine training site provided for diverse experiences in innovative care delivery services. The clinic primarily served an underserved and refugee population.

Dr. Parsons later served as a Clinical Pharmacist for the Warrior Transition Unit at San Antonio Miliary Medical Center. This unit takes care of wounded, ill and injured Service Members from all branches of service. During this time, she also served as a pharmacist in Family Medicine taking care of patients with diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and polypharmacy. She served as the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director at Joint Base San Antonio.

Dr. Parsons is a member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Her interests include diabetes, development of Clinical Pharmacy services, care of diverse populations, and resident and student education.
