Dr. Adeola O. Coker is Assistant Dean, Department Chair, and Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from McPherson College and her Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She then completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Kansas, where she specialized in the biophysical characterization of pharmaceutically relevant proteins.

Before joining academia, Dr. Coker spent nearly a decade as a formulation scientist—first at Schering-Plough Research Institute in Kenilworth, New Jersey, and later at Human Genome Sciences in Rockville, Maryland. During this time, she led formulation development, protein stability, and characterization studies for protein therapeutics, contributing to regulatory submissions and cross-functional development programs.

Dr. Coker joined the University of the Incarnate Word in 2009 as an Assistant Professor. She teaches pharmaceutics and research-focused courses. Her research interests include protein formulation, aggregation mechanisms, excipient effects, and student learning assessment. Dr. Coker is also active in professional service through the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the American Chemical Society, and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
