Aside from the Month of October bringing in the Halloween season, it is also recognized as American Pharmacy Month or Pharmacy Month. The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) designated this month as such in order to honor the immense contribution that those in pharmacy give to their communities across the nation.
Melissa and Frances Silva have much in common. The sisters share devoted parents, an upbringing they uniquely understand, doctoral degrees in healthcare, and most recently, they became alumnae of the University of the Incarnate Word on the exact same day.
Not all seniors in high school know what they want to do for a career, but Meagan Garza did. After completing a pharmacy technician program offered by her school district in the Rio Grande Valley, she knew she wanted to become a pharmacist. The Doctor of Pharmacy candidate is now preparing to graduate from the University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy (FSOP) on Saturday.
