Mission

The mission of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is to provide students with a broad foundation in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences.

Vision

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences strives to be a leader in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences education, research and scholarship.

Goals

The department will accomplish its vision through the following goals:

1. Recruit and retain highly qualified faculty and staff with diverse backgrounds.
2. Deliver rigorous coursework and research experience to foster the development of ethical and critical thinking skills.
3. Provide innovative instruction and curricular integration of biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
4. Incorporate new discoveries into coursework to provide students with current information and instill the importance of life-long learning.
5. Support interprofessional education activities.
6. Acquire and provide resources to develop faculty and staff as professionals, educators and scholars.
7. Encourage and enable faculty and staff to advance individual and collaborative research programs.
8. Promote professionalism and wellness.
