Assistant Professor, Pharmacy Practice
Dr. Hansita B. Patel is an Assistant Professor in Pharmacy Practice at the University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of Family and Community Medicine, Department of Medicine, at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her Pre-Pharmacy requirements at the University of Texas at Austin and received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy in 2013. She completed a two-year specialty residency in pharmacotherapy through the University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy, and subsequently joined the University of the Incarnate Word as an ambulatory care faculty member upon completion of her residency in 2015. Her current research interests include diabetes management, health literacy, and medication adherence.
Currently, Dr. Patel is a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), as well as the Central Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She will serve as junior board member for the Central Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
