Professor, Pharmacy Practice

Dr. Kimberly A. B. Cauthon is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Feik School of Pharmacy (FSOP). Prior to joining the faculty at FSOP, she was at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy in Glendale, Ariz., for seven years. At FSOP, Dr. Cauthon’s courses include teaching patient assessment in the second year and coordinating a pharmacotherapy seminar, a capstone course, in the fourth year. Additionally, she offers drug-induced diseases elective to third-year students and assists with the required immunization course. Dr. Cauthon has a practice site at a Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic and precepts fourth-year pharmacy students and pharmacy residents. She sees patients by referral and appointment for management of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol.

Dr. Cauthon is a member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and co-advisor for the student chapter at FSOP. She is a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist and is serving as a Board of Commissioners member. Additionally, Dr. Cauthon is a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP), the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE), the Texas Pharmacy Association (TPA) and Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy (TSHP). Her research interests include the assessment of teaching practices for students and residents, treatment of diabetes and geriatrics.
